That was interesting, the reason why Carlos fell in love with him. It wasn't unfair, either. Or unrealistic. He supposed that under normal circumstances, maybe he'd have fallen too. If he didn't stand in his own way, that was. But despite the toying with the idea, Gael wasn't sure he knew where to start with falling in love. How did one simply fall in love?
"Oh, I don't know." He said, as he'd often said tonight. He stared ahead, listening to their feet crunching against the gravel on the pathway. Did he believe in love? No. Maybe... He wasn't sure. "You're right, I do think other people can love. I'm happy for them, most of the time. Jealous....sometimes. I don't believe love is easy for me, though. It isn't just falling back and letting go or whatever it is those stupid romance movies go on about."
It was a mostly straight forward answer. "I just don't know if I can. Sometimes I want to believe it can happen, other times I don't. Maybe I'm just too jaded for it." He paused then, looking up at Carlos. "Would you be patient enough....to let me try?"
