The sun was shining through the window, dancing across his face and force Gael into a wakefulness he didn't really want. His first night in his own bed had been...interesting. Carlos seemed too tense to sleep, and instead they'd lain beneath the covers and seemed to play a silent waiting game- who was going to fall asleep first.

It had been Gael. Not that it had mattered much, because he'd been jolted awake in surprise to Carlos' restless sleeping. The other man's arm would jerk out and slap against whatever was there, and he would kick ever so slightly. Unsure of himself, Gael had been at a loss as to what to do. Wake him? Try to sooth him in his sleep? Getting up wasn't really an option, considering Carlos had parked his wheelchair a good five feet from the bed.

In the end, Gael had opted for twisting himself around on the bed as carefully as he could, and curling up close to the other man. He might have bruises by morning, he'd thought, but he wasn't sure what else he could do to help. So he laid there, singing softly and running a soothing hand up and down Carlos' arm until the man seemed to calm in his dreaming.

Or woke up.

In hindsight, Gael wasn't really sure which had happened. He'd slowly lulled himself back to sleep by the time all the restlessness had truly ended.

But clearly, he thought has he cracked an eye to glare at the window, it had not been long enough to get what he considered to be enough sleep.
