the emotional support meme

Everyone has bad days. Everyone needs a little support, someone to listen to their woes or just silently hug them and not mind tears or emotional ranting. What reason is life crushing you today? How will you cope with it?
directions
1. Comment with your character, series, preferences, etc in the subject.
2. Roll a number between 1-20 with the RGN for a prompt.
3. Reply to other comments and play the scenario out!
4. Bring tissues.
prompts
1. LOST SOMETHING You lost something important: this could be a person, a family heirloom, or your job… something big or small, it still affects you personally. Can you find it, or get a new job, or find some way to fill the gap in your chest?
2. LITTLE THINGS Little things have been building up: bills, annoying neighbors, your cat is hiding from you, coworkers being jerks. They’re not huge by themselves, but can be when put together. Can you solve them one by one? Or all at once?
3. DEATH Someone near you recently died. It could be someone you loved, someone you hated, a friend or enemy but death is never easy to get over, from funeral arrangements to regrets. Having someone there for you helps, though.
4. BAD DAY It’s just been a bad day. Someone yelled at you, a car splashed mud all over you, you woke up late, and your milk went sour. Can someone cheer you up?
5. LONELY One of the hardest things to get over is being lonely. It either takes a lot of personal strength or the strength of yourself and someone else combined. Can you see that you are not alone, or will someone be able to show you?
6. DECISION MAKING You need help making a big decision: something important, something that could change your life and the life of others around you.
7. INJURY Anything from tripping to getting into a car accident is never fun, and sometimes, you need some help getting over your injuries, but that is what friends and family helping you out and giving some tender loving care are for.
8. DISAPPOINTMENT You were hoping to get or achieve something, but didn’t, and now you have to live with the disappointment. Can someone help you see the bright side of things and get back up to fight again?
9. FIGHT You had a huge fight with someone involving fists, words, throwing things, or anything else a fight might entail, and are left emotionally distraught. Can someone comfort you, and maybe bandage up your wounds too?
10. EXHAUSTION You have either not been sleeping well, have a lot on your mind, too many responsibilities… and it is all weighing down on you. Do you have someone to vent at or someone who can distract you or convince you to relax?
11. JUDGMENT Someone criticized you, and it wasn’t the healthy kind either. Those always hurt the worst, but surely someone will convince you it’s not true.
12. MISSING SOMEONE There isn’t much you can do about someone being on a long trip, moving away, or wanting an ex back, but maybe it would help if someone was there to miss and remember them along with you.
13. FORGOTTEN You have been feeling neglected and forgotten lately, for no reason at all, or maybe there is one. Is there someone to stop this feeling?
14. BROKE UP Ending a relationship is never easy. Sometimes it’s for a good reason, other times it’s a mistake, but it happens anyways. You still need someone around to help you adjust to being single again, maybe convince you to celebrate.
15. JOB DEMANDS No matter what industry you are in, sometimes, it’s sucks. Audits? Mountains of paperwork? Insane hours? It can make you really hate a job and need a little support to muscle through it until you can find a better one.
16. DEPRESSION Then there is just… everything and you get stuck into a rut you can’t get out of and it’s a deeper issue. Can someone convince you to get professional help or get onto a regiment that will work for you?
17. FAMILY They can be the biggest support system a person can have, or sometimes they are the cause of all the problems of the world. Can you work the issues out, or will you need support from an outside source?
18. ILLNESS From a cold to an illness that has kept you in the hospital for months, it’s nice to know that people are thinking of you and wishing the best through bowls of soup, flowers, get-well cards, and more. Best of all are those who come to visit.
19. SELF-ESTEEM Not everyone is as confident as they wish to be, or as the person next to them. Sometimes, life just gives you blow after blow. Is there someone near by who can help lift your spirits and renew your fighting spirit?
20. WILD CARD Is there another scenario you had in mind? Was there something we missed? Roll again or make up your own adventure!

As for something he'd never tried, well...there wasn't much, really. He wasn't shy about making demands in his sex life, and several of his partners - not just Gael - had been game for most of his creative ideas. "Mm, kinbaku, I suppose. Japanese rope bondage," he clarified, though if anyone else in the Deck was going to be familiar, it would probably be Gael. "I haven't been with someone patient enough for it."
And Gael might not either, he thought. Still, it interested him.
They were getting to the end of twenty questions, and Carlos looked up at the stars as he considered. Perhaps the fact that they were getting towards the end, really, was what made him go more serious. Or maybe half a bottle of wine had loosened his hold on himself. "What do you like most about me? One thing."
no subject
Leaning in to Carlos a little, he listened to the question before he raised a brow a little and glanced up at Carlos as they walked. "One thing?" He repeated, before looking away as they walked and he thought about it. "One thing...." It wasn't easy, and certainly a subject thing. But one thing... "Your hands," he said finally. "They are big, bigger than mine at least. Strong, gentle but rough when needed. They....make me feel calm." Which was something he appreciated more and more lately, when he could get sleep because Carlos' arms were wrapped about him tightly.
Well, Carlos had one question left. And he had two...he might as well make them count, right? Tapping his fingers against Carlos' hand he thought about it carefully as they walked, before he frowned a little and regarded Carlos curiously. "Why do you love me?" He asked, looking away after he'd asked, suddenly unsure if he really wanted to know that answer.
no subject
But then Gael asked his own question, and Carlos' smile slipped a little. It was not an easy one to answer, he thought. "Why do I love you?" he said. "There's a lot of things. You're smart and kind, even if you try not to advertise that, exactly. You're damned charming, and you make me...not take everything in the world so seriously, I guess. You care, even thought you try not to sometimes, I think. I think you'd at least maim anyone who tried to hurt your friends or your family." He'd tried to protect Sarah and Ollie by keeping his distance - at least that was what Carlos thought - and as soon as he knew Carlos loved him, he'd tried to do the same. "I'm not really sure how I expected not to fall in love with you," he murmured, though he tried to keep the tone light, at least.
He was down to his very last question, he thought as they walked on one of the winding paths through the Green. He should make it count. "Do you believe in love?" He asked. "For yourself, I mean. Pretty sure you at least believe in it for other people."
no subject
"Oh, I don't know." He said, as he'd often said tonight. He stared ahead, listening to their feet crunching against the gravel on the pathway. Did he believe in love? No. Maybe... He wasn't sure. "You're right, I do think other people can love. I'm happy for them, most of the time. Jealous....sometimes. I don't believe love is easy for me, though. It isn't just falling back and letting go or whatever it is those stupid romance movies go on about."
It was a mostly straight forward answer. "I just don't know if I can. Sometimes I want to believe it can happen, other times I don't. Maybe I'm just too jaded for it." He paused then, looking up at Carlos. "Would you be patient enough....to let me try?"
no subject
It just went to show how different reality was from appearances, though Carlos was very much in love.
"You have good reasons to be jaded about it," he said. If Hadyn had to tell him to stop letting what happened seven years before color his assumptions about what people could feel about him, he could only imagine what dealing with someone like Patrick would do. He was under no illusions that Felipe was a kind man, and he recognized that the final and irrevocable rejection by his parents, followed almost immediately by the breakup with his first love, had killed hope in him at some level. But his pain wasn't the same as Gael's.
And he wasn't sure he could really believe that Gael would ever love him, or that the lack there was in Gael. He gave Gael a searching look for a moment. "I can try," he said. "I'd like to try to be patient enough, love."
no subject
Not that Gael blamed him. And while he was aware that he saw Leon through the rose tint glasses of childhood? It didn't matter. Leon and Daniel had been perfect together- in their quiet, soft ways. Leon was secretly a bit of a romantic, Daniel was fond of the endless quirks Leon seemed to posses.
"But....if you want, I think....I could try." He said, sniffing a little as he ran a hand through his hair. "Otherwise, I don't know....I'd probably buy more drugs, and eventually waste away. I'll probably still try to buy more drugs, anyway. The cravings aren't terrible, but my will to say no is." He could probably quit cold turkey...with effort. With someone's help. Last time he and Sarah could involved in this sort of stuff had been college, and they hadn't been taking every day or even every week. Just around parties, really.
"I know...we're done with the game, but.....why don't you even talk about your parents?"
no subject
He gave Gael a bit of a pained look and then looked away, across the Green at the stage where the summer Shakespeare was always performed. "I don't have parents," he said after a moment, glancing back at Gael. "They disowned me when they figured out I was gay, when I was seventeen. That's when I moved to the Castle." Which had been one of the few options available to him, at that age, he thought. If he hadn't been Ty's best friend - he honestly wasn't sure what would have happened to him.
no subject
But to raise a kid for 17 years, and then decide to disown them? That was utter bullshit.
"When they 'figured out' your were gay? Please, more like when they couldn't deny something any more. Their loss, really. You're more than 'a gay man', you know. You've got dreams, and talents, and skills...being gay is a sidenote, and if they can't get the fuck over it. Fuck'm, they don't deserve you. I'd be more than happy relay that to them on your behalf as well." Gael said, his eyes going a bit dark. Perhaps because he'd always known Leon too had had to deal with parents who hated his sexuality. They kept in touch, really, because Patrick refused to lose both of his sons- Ren, though? She never could really get over it all. His grandmother paid lip service to him and Noelle, really. She 'loved' them, but only if they didn't mention Daniel or Leon being gay, or their sexual exploits with the same sexes, or anything wild and crazy.
Patrick, bless him, loved his wife....but also always tried to soften the blows of each visit. Gael wasn't sure who he'd grown to dislike and hate more- his grandmother and her awful bias, or his apologistist Grandfather.
"If the worlds of my father, the best revenge is being happier than they are." Gael said, looking a little smug in that declaration. "And maybe flaunting that happiness in their face a little. But that is more just for fun."
no subject
He laughed a little, a slightly bemused sound as he tugged Gael close to him. "Felipe Sanchez was hardly ever father of the year anyway," he said. "There were too many kids for him to bother with me much until I fell out of line. Hadyn and Elisha were more my parents from the time I met the twins." Which just somehow made the thing sound all the more horrible, he thought. He didn't really think his childhood had been that terrible.
"I've been going with the revenge of being more successful than they'll ever be." Felipe and Bethany were both Fours; Victoria was, at Five, the highest ranked of his siblings. And Carlos had already chosen a Nine - Leith Cole - to challenge next. "If happiness is the way to go, I might need help with that."
no subject
"Well, Family is what you make for yourself, you know. Those you choose are closer to you than blood." He said, hugging Carlos close as he could. "What makes you happy? I would, literally, do everything I can to assist in that. Especially if it involves ropes....Well not just ropes, but you get the picture." He said, grinning against Carlos' shoulder as stood there.
Turning his head, he looked up at Carlos, reaching up he slipped a hand up to cup Carlos' cheek before he leaned in and up to catch the other man's lips in his. It was not a rushed kiss, or hungry. It was sweet, really. Definitely not the normal demanding and frenzied kiss.
no subject
He skimmed his fingers along Gael's cheek and then cupped the nape of his neck gently as they kissed, and it was some minutes before he pulled back. When he did, he wasn't entirely sure what the next thing was, he thought. He'd always known where they were going. They weren't going to be a grand romance, and it simplified their path. But then he'd gone and fallen in love, and Gael...Gael did not love him. He cared for him, and he said he wanted to try to love him.
It all made it complicated, didn't it? He thought as he watched Gael through his lashes for a moment. He hadn't tried a real relationship for a few years now, and he'd forgotten how it worked. "Well," he said. "It's early yet. If we go back to your apartment, there's going to be your roommate."
no subject
"Well, maybe we could get that tattoo. Luckily I've been keeping up with my no hair trend, so I've got a hairless canvas for an artist to work with." He pulled away from Carlos a little, fingers reaching out to lace into Carlos'. "Or....we could just have sex out here. I heard a rumor that Elisha and Hadyn did that a few times, back in the day. They weren't caught, but I am confused how people who were never caught managed to have a rumor about doing naughty things in a park about them."
"Or we could do both..." He said, spinning back up against Carlos before he tipped his head up and back at Carlos. "Or...we could go dancing. The choice is your's. Mix, match...tell me what you like."
no subject
"You never actually get caught when you're the most powerful man in the Deck," Carlos said dryly, though, as his fingers tightened around Gael's. "So probably someone saw them but never dared say a word publically. Just behind closed doors so everyone knows anyway. I think you should get that tattoo, though," he said. "And by the time that's done..."
The options would be a bit opened up, really.
no subject
"Yeah," he said, standing as he took the phone. "I could do it. Let me get it drawn up, yeah?"
It was a several hours later, and deep into the night before they were done with the tattoo- which were the masks. Gael had decided on the right pelvic side. He'd had to hold his cock in a hand, and out of the way as Mathis worked. Though it had led to a lengthy conversation about genital piercings between the three of them. Gael admitted that he always thought it was interesting....but hadn't ever convinced himself to go for it.
When they were done, Gael was admiring it in the mirror before covering it and sorting himself out so they could leave after he paid.
"Well....I've been inked." He said as they stepped outside. "I rather fancy that a lot. Though, it is a bit sexual almost."
no subject
"It suits you," he said, though, as he pulled Gael in for a kiss that was far less sweet than the one they'd shared on the Green, and more sensual. "Well, it's certainly late now," he murmured. "Carnivale will be getting interesting about this time."
no subject
"Carnivale it is, cheri. Not that I'm dressed for it, mind you. I usually prefer to be a bit more done up, but you've chosen." He said, leading Carlos through the streets and across town until they could hear the music of the club. But he turned and smirked as they got inside, pulling Carlos along with him toward the dance floor as he started to move his hips with the sound of the music.
Fine, he thought, if he couldn't have sex right now? He'd make certain that Carlos wanted nothing more than to rip his clothing off the second they were in some privacy. His hips moved as he turned and leaned back into Carlos, his hips pushing back to grind against the other man as they danced.
no subject
"Next time, darling," he said as they gained entrance to the club and headed for the dance floor. It was Latin music, of the most overtly sensual type, and Carlos lightly pulled Gael back against him, careful not to press against the tender skin where his new tattoo was. He arched slightly as their hips moved together.
"Trying to make sure we don't stay long?" He murmured in Gael's ear as his hand slid down to cup Gael's cock through his jeans. "Should we see which one of us breaks first?"
no subject
"Honestly, I think we know who'll break first. I'm not afraid of being arrested by the Diamond guards for indecent exposure either." He said as he turned to whisper. "Of course, we can stay all night long....There are dark corners around here, and honestly. I've seen a blowjobs in the dark halls before." Well, maybe not here- but other places.
Dropping his other hand down onto Carlos' hand as it rubbed at his dick through his jeans. He guided it up and down a little, before his hand slipped under Carlos' and carefully unsnapped his jeans and unzipped them before guiding Carlos' hand in. Glancing over, he could see a few dancing turning to watch them, a few with a bit of surprise on their faces. Gael only flicked his tongue out at them, lapping at the air before his hand rested over where Carlos' disappeared into his jeans.
"Frankly," he said in a murmur against Carlos' ear, "I don't think we'd make it back home at the moment. Which is a shame. I was looking forward to playing with those ropes tonight."
no subject
He scraped his teeth against the side of Gael's neck as he stroked his cock inside his jeans. "We're young," he said. "Who's to say we can't do both?" He tugged him backwards, further into the shadows. He didn't much care about the eyes on them - some of them more jealous than shocked - but he had a possessive streak, he thought. He managed to keep it under control most of the time, but there were certain things he didn't want an entire club experiencing.
Carlos moved to the music, still pressed against Gael's ass, and smirked as Gael writhed against him. "Maybe when I get you home I'll tie you up and put you on your knees," he purred. "With the red rope. You look good in red."
no subject
"You're going to tie me up?" He said with a laugh as he glanced over their shoulders and pulled Carlos' hand from his pants so that he could turn. He pulled Carlos down into a wet, hungry kiss as he walked the man back toward a booth that was empty and nestled into the dark corner of the club.
"Sit," he said, pushing Carlos back before he slipped over the other man's legs and straddled him on the booth's bench. "I expect to be tied up, and fucked senseless when we get home." He murmured, before catching Carlos' lips in his again. "And I wouldn't mind a good fuck right here either. You can just sit back and enjoy..."
no subject
His hands slid gently over Gael's hips. "I should let you take the edge off, mm? Let you ride my dick right here where anyone could wander in and watch you. Is that what you want, baby?"
no subject
He lowered himself down on the cock beneath him. He was slow in his movements, hissing against Carlos' lips before he whispered softly in French to the man he slowly rode up and down. He grinned, even against the man's lips kissing him as they moved.
The pace picked up over time, but every time Carlos grew impatient and tried to thrust up- Gael nipped harshly at his lip as he lifted his own hips up. He'd admonish him in French, before gently kissing away the sharp pain of the nip. He was gentle, really, in his movements. Only working his pace up to a faster pace when Carlos' breathing started to get more haggard.
He pulled Carlos' hand down to pump his cock as he rode Carlos' faster. It was only a few minutes then, before he was grabbing Carlos and pulling the man close and ramming their mouths together to keep from crying out loudly as he came into the man's hand.
no subject
He groaned as Gael lowered himself onto his cock. It was hot and even tighter than it would normally be, asnd his eyes went nearly black with lust as he watched Gael through his lashes. He couldn't stop himself from trying to take control - it was just how he was made - but there was a little smile when Gael wouldn't let him. Maybe they should play this way a little more often, he thought as he subsided. There was something even sexier about Gael bossing him around. Which wasn't to say he wasn't going to make him pay for it, very soon.
His fingers drove into Gael's hair as Gael came around him, and that was all he needed to go over the edge, moaning into the sloppy, rough kiss as he came. It was a few minutes more before he shifted Gael off him and went to get something to clean themselves up before righting their clothes and slipping back out of the club.
"My place," he said, and this time he was the one tugging Gael down the street.
no subject
Getting himself sorted, he let Carlos pull him along down the street, laughing as they went. His mood from earlier had, in some manner, evaporated in the course of the day. He content, if not happy, and for now that was good enough.
They wound their way back through the districts until they were pushing through Carlos' apartment door. Closing the door behind them, Gael playfully ducked out of the way of a kiss before raising a brow at Carlos.
"I feel like I need a shower," he said, slowly peeling his shirt up and over his head as he walked backwards toward the bedroom. "After that whole....liaison in the club. I just think...I'm a little filthy, don't you think?"
no subject
He chuckled as Gael ducked his hands and mouth, and followed him down the hall before steering him towards the bathroom. "You could say that filthy is a common descriptor," he said as he pulled his shirt over his head and dropped it in the hamper inside the bathroom. "But if you want a shower, I can be patient. Thing is, though, you shouldn't get your tattoo wet yet."
It therefore, probably wouldn't hurt if Carlos helped him out a bit, really.
