[Gael/Sarah] Roses and Virtues
She couldn't blame either of her dads for waiting to call her until the next day. Elisha had, she imagined, had Carlos and Ty and Oliver to deal with, on top of Gaël. Then Daniel Prochazka, then Noëlle almost first thing the next morning. Hadyn had had...well, the theatre. And with all the dramatics, it was natural that no one thought to call the person on the periphery of the situation until she'd been making coffee in the apartment above her store. Patrick Zeitlin hadn't seen her with Gaël, after all.
Though she couldn't help but think - if she hadn't been so distracted with the suite of jewelry she was designing for a new bride in the Diamonds, and had let Gaël drag her away from her blowtorch and welding materials, would they all have been better off? Then, at least, with Ollie calling Ty too, that bastard would have been hopelessly outnumbered, and she might have been the one to make sure he was dead. Sarah wasn't usually one for might have beens, but she couldn't help considering the possibilities as she stood in her kitchen letting her coffee get cold. Was she isolating herself from her family by living away from the Castle? How was it that Gaël's insane ex hadn't even seen her? How did she get to a place where she was so apart from what was happening to her friends - and her family, because Carlos was as much her brother as Ty was. Those increasingly turbulent thoughts were why, in the end, she listened to Daddy, and didn't rush into Carlos' suite at Club Castle. She leaned on her stores of patience instead, and waited.
Waited until Dr. Prochazka and Gaël had gone back to the Victorian style house she'd spent half her teenage years in before she showed up at the door, a ridiculously cheerful bouquet in hand and a smile pasted on her face that didn't reach her worried dark eyes. "If I'm the first person to bring you flowers, love," she said though, "then I'm worried that our friends don't really get you, and I'm just going to have to retrain them. Of course, Ty is hopeless, but I've got hope for Oliver and Carlos."

Turning, he held her into the kitchen and found a place to on the counter to set them. He was, he thought, happy to see his second favorite woman in the deck- Noelle was the first woman in his heart, and always would be.
"I suppose your dad called?" He asked, smiling just a little as he found a soda pull out of the ice box and handed it over to her. "Also- be honest.....how bad does it look?"
no subject
She took a sip of soda, though, before saying more. "Daddy called this morning," she said. "He said you were going to stay here for a bit, so I decided not to storm the gates." Not that it was much of a storming when your name was Kagan.
"It's bad," she said after another moment. Gaël's face looked a bit like a topographic map right now - cuts and bruises and swollen skin. "And it's going to get uglier before it gets prettier. It's enough to make a girl cry, really. I'm going to have to be the pretty one until those bruises fade, darling, and you're better at it.
no subject
He guessed he couldn't blame Oliver, really. Ollie wanted happiness, and maybe Ty could give that to him. Gael certainly wasn't going to be able to, he thought, pulling his own soda out and sighing a little.
"Oh, please My Love. You were always the prettier one. I only have the advantage of a sweet smile, and looking utterly harmless. But I can teach you to flash that smile in no time." Though- Gael didn't think the bruises were going to really fade. Not on his spirit at least.
no subject
Gaël, though, had been convinced happiness wasn't for him for nine years now, and it didn't matter what his father said, what his sister said, what Sarah said. That feeling had wormed itself in so deep it was a certainty. She waited until he was sitting next to her, though, before she leaned her head against his. It was only possible when they were sitting down. "I am Snow White to your Prince Charming, just like when Papa cast us when we were eleven and ten," she said, and paused for a moment.
"Your turn," she said, tipping her head a bit to look at him. "How bad is it, love?"
no subject
He shrugged a little, before looking at Sarah with a seemingly honest expression. "But all things considered, I'm fine. And Hadyn explained that he told Master Lawrence that I would not be able to complete my role as RumTumTuger. So, no Cats makeup for me. So now I just have to focus on getting rid of these scars and moving on to something more exciting to work on. Also probably helpful that I moved home since I will also not get paid."
no subject
She didn't know if it was possible to be fine though, not after the night Gaël had been through. Ty had told her that Ollie had shot Patrick in the head after he'd tried to take a shot at Gaël, and then pointed his gun at Ty when he'd missed. He'd told her that Carlos had carried Gaël to the doctor once the man was dead, and that Gaël had barely been able to cling to consciousness throughout the whole thing. No, she wouldn't be fine, but she'd probably try to convince people she was.
So Sarah just leaned against Gaël again, carefully looping her arm around him and squeezing for a moment before she let go. "Well, you know that's just a golden opportunity knocking at your door," she said. "The apartment above my store's getting a little cramped and I was thinking of apartment shopping soon. You should help me with the rent. It won't be for a month, though. Finding good apartments is a process from hell, even here, and then we have to furnish the place." Which meant Gaël could still hide in his old room, with his old things, and his father close by. If this had happened to her - no matter how badass she thought she was - she'd go straight back to Club Castle and hide with Hadyn and Elisha.

But he was glad he wouldn't have to run head long into figuring all that out. He needed the time to sort himself out, and give himself space. He also needed to probably crawl into Carlos' bed at least once before he really decided one way or another. Shouldn't he? He liked the other man, was so very fond of him. He'd felt almost as safe in Carlos' arms as he had when his father arrived and stood guard.
"Do you....believe in love?" He asked, his eyes dancing over the kitchen curiously before he turned to look at Sarah. "I mean....real love, that is."
no subject
Part of it was she wanted Gaël to feel safe, and she thought - hoped - that she could make him feel safe. But part of it was that it got lonely, living by herself. She felt a little separated from her family after her years away. So this was for her, too.
"Love?" She said, though, leaning her elbow on the counter. "Yes. I do. I mean, my dads...honestly, they shouldn't have made it, I don't think. There are a lot of reasons they should have broken up. But they haven't, and I think it's because they love each other." She smiled a little bit. "I don't know if love is real for me, darling. But I think it's real."
She watched him for a moment, her expression a bit unreadable before she smiled. Was Gaël, she wondered, falling for Carlos? She hoped he wasn't falling for Oliver, because she was pretty sure Ty was. Either way, she wouldn't ask as much; for one, he'd never admit it either way. "Is your dad trying to turn you into a romantic again?" She asked instead. "I've never met a more romantic Spade, I don't think." Well, that she wasn't related to, at least.
no subject
Well, it was a good idea at least. And Sarah's parents, at least, could help kick in for a nice place. What good was it, really, to being the daughter of a King if you didn't get spoiled like a princess?
"Your parents are....even Mine, really. Something to be envied. But...it seems so very unrealistic, Love. Seems like a fools game, really. But- yes, I think he wishes I wouldn't give up on it. Even if he understands.....why." Even if Daniel had given him the most curious of looks when Carlos had brought Gael breakfast that morning, a look that had suggested something that Gael wasn't sure he wanted to be suggested.
"Is it weird that I am sleeping with one of your brothers? Because, lets be real- Carlos has practically been adopted by your parents."
no subject
It was a valid question, in her opinion. On the other hand, there was a distinct possibility the kinky sex was with Carlos, so...did she really want to know?
"See, my papa would like to pretend I'm a virginal princess in a tower," she said, though. "Ty having sex is one thing. Me? Oh, no one's good enough for me." It was a little amusing, really, when it wasn't a pain.
As for Carlos, she grinned a little. "It's a little weird," she said. "I think it'd be weirder if it was Ty, though. I love Carlos, and god knows Felipe did us a favor when he disowned him, but he's not my twin. That would just be too much. Besides," she said. "He does think you're cute, and I'd hate to deprive him of so much cute."
no subject
He didn't really think that she wanted all the details, and honestly- he didn't know how he was going to feel about whips and chains. But he was determined to not change, even in death he refused to give Patrick that satisfaction of changing him.
"Well, I know he thinks I'm something. I don't know about cute- but, you know." He said, shrugging as he took a drink of soda. "Well, if you're not feeling weird about it- then we can consider having a threesome sometime." He said with a wink.
no subject
"Besides, I know I'm hot, and you know I'm hot, but Carlos, unfortunately, does not think I'm hot. I try not to hold it against him." She sighed theatrically and tossed her hair back. "It's a failing, but no one's perfect. It's the price he pays for being the less annoying brother. But," she added with a wink. "I'll pay you to ask him to draw you like one of his French girls."
no subject
Still, all things aside, he shook his head. It was a shame Carlos wouldn't agree that Sarah was hot, and would likely have the same reaction that she'd had to the idea of a threesome- but he didn't see why. Even if Carlos didn't like the ladies. "Yes well- wait, what? One of his French girls?" He asked, blinking and staring at Sarah for a moment.
"Ah, well....does not mean he'd draw me looking like a French Girl too?"
no subject
She wouldn't actually object to sleeping with Noëlle Prochazka-Shaw, really, but she suspected Gaël would be a little weirded out by being there at the same time.
Not the point, though, especially when it was her turn to tease. "I can't believe you don't remember Titanic, Gaël Shaw. Your heart is definitely not going on. It means he'd draw you naked, though," she added. "Preferably on some kind of Empire or Rococo settee. We could hang it in our new apartment!" She clapped her hands together. "I could ask him to give it to us as a housewarming."
no subject
Ah well, he will wasn't going to worry too much about it as he thought about it. "And no, I wouldn't want a threesome with Noelle, even if it is different. She is actually related to me, and Carlos is not related to you. But fine, your point is taken." He smirked. "No more suggestions of a threesome."
no subject
She leaned her chin on her hand, though, smirking a little bit. "I'm sorry, baby," she said. "I'm just crushing all your dreams today."
no subject
But she was right, she was ruining all his dreams. "You've supposed to be telling me all the wonderful things about me, love. I've been through the worlds worst...." And joking about it certainly made it easier for him to deal with. But otherwise, things went as things normally went. "Fine, I'll have to find someone else hot to do a threesome with."
no subject
The whole thing was ridiculous, of course, but maybe ridiculous was what Gaël needed. He wasn't, Sarah thought, going to talk about it right now. All she could really do was banish the shadows from his eyes.
no subject
He grinned as he looked across the room and considered his options. "I could certain go for some of those Novaks though. It would be lovely I think. Mm. Could you nudge Sebastian in my direction, do you think?"
no subject
"There's a lot of pretty on both the Novak and Bernard sides," she said as she watched him pace around the kitchen. "Simon would probably go for it. He's game for about anything. Of course, so's Sebastian, honestly." That boy, she thought, a good three years younger than Sarah was, had nonetheless, apparently seduced a Spade around Noëlle's age. And a bit like Gaël, he didn't discriminate by gender.
no subject
And he did not even care if Sarah was grossed out by that. Because it was likely going to be delicious. So very delicious. "You know, I feel like I might have a sex problem. But I am also completely unwilling to do anything about it."
no subject
And if there was anything more dangerous than a bored Novak or Kagan - well, it was probably a bored Fox or Prochazka-Shaw, really. "Dearest, you have a sex addiction. It's okay. We love you for it."
no subject
And that was, without a doubt, a very honest statement from Gael Shaw's lips.

no subject
Even if it was probably a bad idea. He wasn't blind, he could see the way Carlos would look at him when the man thought he wasn't paying attention. "Maybe next time, darling."
