One thing to could be said about holidays in the Kagan home- it was always dramatic. In those rare moments that Ty was under the same roof with the rest of them, there was usually screaming between him and someone else at some point. Heather suspected that he was still dealing....dealing the war, the sudden child thing, mental illness. It probably didn't excuse him, at all, but there was some of his behavior that familiar.

"Ty's taking Ollie to the airport." Heather, said after Hadyn and Ollie had disappeared from the kitchen. Hadyn to deal with, as usual, the screaming. Ollie left to pack up the rest of his stuff, coffee in hand. And that left Heather and Micah to, well, fend for themselves. "Do you think drama can be bred into a family line?" There had to be some sort of explanation.

"With our luck, we'd breed a jock. My dad would be thrilled. Probably start them on basketball when they were two. " Ty was an odd one, he thought. He didn't really get him, either. Of course, he didn't really get Ollie for the same reason - why would you willingly keep going back into a warzone? And hr hadn't gotten Sarah until he'd realized that those artistic frenzies were actually just like Izak when he was in the middle of something. Or himself when he was in the middle of something.

He shrugged, though. "He just got a job there. Basically his dream job, so he'll be moving down to Atlanta soon. He wants me to come too, but honestly, there are so few mathematics jobs in the area that I'll probably end up being an extremely well-educated househusband if I go." He wasn't sure Izak was really getting his problem with that particularly well. "I think Ty and Ollie were friends first, too. Plus Ollie is just one of those extremely confident guys, you know?" He said. "Do you think that's why Elisha can't stand him?"

"I mean...it's a little early to say that," Micah said as he mixed eggs with milk. "It'll go one of two ways. He'll convince me to move down to Atlanta and search for a job, or I'll stay in New York for a while and we'll do the long distance thing. He keeps talling me that there are mathematician jobs at the CDC but, heh, not really in my field." More statistics. Which was probably about as exciting as teaching freshman bio had been for Izak.

"I don't know. We'll see how it goes, I guess."

"The humidity would do horrible things to both of our hair," Micah said dryly, because hair was always number one on both of their lists of priorities. "It's a real job. Research position. But you're right, as much as he wants to work there, I don't know that he will forever." At least he hoped not.

"College jobs are hard to come by," he said, though. "That's why I'm still a postdoc as it is. There's a lot more math phds than there are professorships. But you never know, I guess. Something could pop up." He'd put feelers out, though, and the only bite he'd gotten so far was from, well. A community college.
